Characteristics of piggery wastewater

Main treatment technologies of pig farm wastewater
Artificial anaerobic treatment
Since the 1950s, anaerobic treatment or biogas engineering has developed a variety of treatment technologies, mainly to develop a series of high load reactors to treat wastewater on the basis of increasing sludge concentration and improving the mixing effect of wastewater and sludge. Anaerobic treatment is characterized by small land occupation, low energy demand and biogas generation. The treatment process does not require oxygen and has high organic load potential, which can degrade parts that cannot be degraded by aerobic microorganisms.
Upflow anaerobic sludge bed and upflow solid reactor are mainly used for treatment of domestic piggery wastewater. Anaerobic treated sewage, if available, can be returned to the field as liquid organic fertilizer, but it is often discharged in large quantities and inconvenient to transport and apply. Generally, it is better to reach the standard after multistage aerobic treatment.
Artificial aerobic treatment
The basic principle of aerobic treatment is that microorganisms decompose organics under aerobic conditions and synthesize their own cells (activated sludge). Biodegradable organics can be completely oxidized into simple inorganic substances. It includes activated sludge, contact oxidation and biological rotary table.
Oxidation ditch, sbr and a/o belong to improved activated sludge process. Generally speaking, it is impossible to treat piggery wastewater by one-stage aerobic process, but multi-stage series connection is required, such as acidification and three-stage contact oxidation process.
