The most common types of phosphorus in
sewage are phosphates, polyphosphates and organic phosphorus.
1) The phosphorus content of domestic
wastewater is generally around 10 to 15 mg/L, of which 70% is soluble;
2) About 90% of phosphorus exists in the
form of phosphate.
Principle of biological phosphorus removal
process
1) Using a kind of bacteria called
phosphorus accumulating bacteria (also known as phosphorus removing bacteria,
phosphorus bacteria, etc.) can fully release the polymerized phosphate in its
cells under anaerobic conditions, this process is called anaerobic phosphorus
release;
2) Under aerobic conditions, it can absorb
phosphorus from water beyond its physiological needs. This process is called
aerobic phosphorus absorption;
3) And convert it into polymerized
phosphate in the cell body, thus forming phosphorus-rich biological sludge, and
discharge this phosphorus-rich sludge from the system through precipitation to
achieve the effect of phosphorus removal from wastewater.
It should be noted that in the process of
anaerobic phosphorus release and aerobic phosphorus absorption, the phosphorus
removal effect is easily affected by factors such as dissolved oxygen, pH,
temperature, sludge age, BOD load and organic matter properties. Unable to meet
water standards.
Therefore, many biological phosphorus
removal processes are used. In order to ensure that the effluent reaches the
standard, Phosphorus Removal Bacteria are used, which can also be used as
flocculants while removing phosphorus.
For medium and low concentrations of
phosphorus in sewage, directly adding phosphorus-removing bacteria can not only
completely remove phosphorus, but also control the treatment cost, effectively
solve the problem of phosphorus removal in sewage, and maximize the value of
phosphorus removal in sewage.
