According to the form of the sedimentation tank and the form of the mud scraper, determine the mud scraping way, the length of the mud scraping cycle. Avoid sludge retention time too long resulting in floating mud, or too frequent or too fast scraping mud disturbance of the sunk sludge.

It is better to realize automatic control when intermittent mud discharge is used. When self-control cannot be realized, we should pay attention to summing up experience and mastering the number and time of mud discharge manually. When continuous sludge discharge is used in the original sedimentation tank, attention should be paid to the flow and color of the discharged sludge to make the sludge concentration meet the technological requirements.

During inspection, pay attention to observe whether the water output of each pool is uniform, but also observe whether the outflow of the weir is uniform, whether the barrier is blocked by scum, and timely adjustment or repair, frequent maintenance.

During inspection, pay attention to observe whether the scum in the scum bucket can be smoothly discharged, whether the scum scraper and scum bucket baffle are appropriate, and adjust the agent repair in time.

During inspection, pay attention to whether there is any abnormal sound in the mud scraping, slag scraping, and mud discharge equipment, and check whether any parts are loose. If any problems are detected, adjust or repair them in time.

Drainage pipe flushing at least once a month, to prevent silt, grease and so on in the pipeline, especially outside the valve caused by silt, winter should also increase the number of flushing. The settling tank will be emptied regularly (usually once a year) for thorough cleaning and inspection.

According to the regulations, the routine monitoring items of sedimentation tank should be analyzed and tested in time, especially the SS and other important items should be compared and analyzed in time, to determine whether the SS removal rate is normal, if the decline should be analyzed to find out the reason, and take necessary corrective measures.
